Summary

The Mental Health Tribunal for Scotland (MHTS) have a truly unique and exciting opportunity to join the team as Tribunals Hearings Clerk within Dundee and the surrounding areas.

This is a full time, fixed term position for 6 months with the possibility of extension and/or conversion to permanency.

The key responsibilities include:

Attend Tribunal venues (Hospital and Community based) to facilitate MHTS hearings acting as a facilitator for on the day administrative functions in line with set processes, maintaining regular contact with HQ.

Complete Risk Assessments at Tribunal venues dealing with any minor and immediate issues at the hearing and reporting any concerns to your Team Leader immediately.

Complete necessary hearings documentation within set timescales.
Travel throughout Scotland to facilitate hearings, which may occasionally involve working extended hours.

Making use of mobile IT equipment. This will be your responsibility to ensure this is secure at all times.

Collate all relevant case information, liaising with external stakeholders and the President’s Office as necessary.

Embrace multi functioning initiative across SCTS.

Work closely with our Continuous Improvement Team to maximise efficiencies within SCTS.

Complete mandatory E-Learning as required.

General administration tasks as required.

We offer 3 different modes of tribunal hearings – teleconference, in-person and WebEx. Clerks are expected to facilitate hearings via one of these methods. This will require travelling throughout Scotland to various venues.
