We are seeking an ambitious and dedicated Deputy Headteacher to join a welcoming and inclusive School in Essex. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader who is passionate about driving school improvement, supporting staff, and delivering the best outcomes for children.
Working closely with the Headteacher, you will take a strategic role in the leadership and management of the school, with particular responsibility for teaching and learning, staff development, and raising standards. You will be a role model for staff and pupils alike, embodying the school's values and vision.
Key Responsibilities
•
Support the Headteacher in the strategic leadership and day-to-day management of the school
•
Lead on areas such as teaching and learning, curriculum development, and staff CPD
•
Monitor standards of teaching, providing coaching and support where needed
•
Foster a positive, inclusive school culture where every child can thrive
•
Work with governors, parents, and the wider community to support school priorities
•
Analyse data to identify strengths and areas for development, driving improvement plans
•
Contribute to safeguarding and pastoral care across the school
•
Act as Headteacher in their absence
Qualifications and Experience
•
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
•
Proven leadership experience at Assistant Head or Deputy Head level (or similar)
•
Strong knowledge of the primary curriculum and pedagogy
•
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
•
Ability to inspire, motivate, and develop colleagues
•
Experience in leading school improvement and raising standards
•
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
