Shunter - Class 2 HGV Licence required - up to £13.09 per hour- 40 hours per week
An opportunity has arisen at our Longtown Distribution Centre for a Full-time Shunter. This role involves being responsible for the safe movement of vehicles around the site, including large goods vehicles (LGVs) or trailer units, and manoeuvring goods around site, into storage or loading bays, or to be picked up by the drivers. The role also involves complying with all road safety legislation and the meeting of delivery targets.
About the role…
To manoeuvre trailers to the required areas.
To carry out all safety checks, as designated by the company.
To report defects, accidents, damage and any incidents as soon as they are found.
To ensure fridges are set at the correct temperature, in line with loaded product temperature requirements.
To ensure diesel tanks always have adequate fuel.
About you…
You will have a good understanding of driving legislation including operators’ licensing and Working Time Directives and have a Class 2 HGV License, Driver CPC and will preferably have gained experience in a similar role in the Transport sector, however training will be given.
You'll have excellent communication skills and be happy working with both drivers and managers.
