The Celestial Church of Christ, Salvation Ark Parish in Manchester is seeking a dedicated Children’s Church Minister Assistant to support the delivery of children’s worship and teaching activities within the parish. The role will involve working under the supervision of the Minister in Charge and senior ministers, assisting in children’s programmes, and helping to create a safe and spiritually enriching environment for children in line with the doctrine and practices of the Celestial Church of Christ.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist with organising and delivering children’s worship services, Bible lessons, and activities under the direction of senior ministers.
Support the preparation of teaching materials, songs, and resources for children’s programmes.
Help supervise children during services, retreats, and special events.
Provide encouragement and pastoral support to children in partnership with the lead minister or Sunday School coordinator.
Assist with the training and coordination of volunteers working in children’s ministry.
Ensure that all children’s activities are conducted safely and in line with the church’s values and safeguarding policies.
Support general church duties as required, particularly during major services, vigils, and festivals.
QUALIFICATIONS AND ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
Strong Christian faith and understanding of the Celestial Church of Christ’s worship style and practices.
Experience working with children in a church or community setting.
Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage children of different ages.
A supportive and servant-hearted approach to ministry.
Ability to work well under supervision as part of a wider ministerial team.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Enhanced DBS Check: Required for working with children and young people (renewed in line with church policy).
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and during special religious services.
