Summary
I am a young girl and I live with my mummy and older sister. I love going to the park and to the beach.
I have been diagnosed with Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID), Scurvy with Arthropathy, Global Developmental Delay and I am orally and gastrostomy fed. I am on the pathway for an ASD assessment, and I have high sensory needs – I have recently started putting everything in my mouth and I have been eating cardboard and rubber, I have also been pulling my hair out and eating this so I need to be closely supervised at all times.
My verbal communication is very limited; my mummy and I would like for someone to spend time with me at home getting to know me before we go out anywhere. I am very busy and sensory seeking, my safety awareness is very limited, so I need to be closely supervised at all times.
My PA will eventually take me out to access activities in the local community. It is important for my PA to know that my mobility is limited, and I can get tired.
Hours of work:
6 hours per week
PA: Female
Driver: Yes
Rate of pay: £12.75 per hour
Tasks involved
• Supporting me to access activities of my choice in the local community and initially in my home.
Type of person required
• Someone with a caring and responsible attitude.
• Be willing to undertake any training identified as relating to the post e.g. Manual Handling Course, Basic First Aid, potentially being trained to managed my gastrostomy site if this is deemed to be necessary.
• Someone who is experienced in working with children/young people who have additional needs.
• I would like a PA who is calm, reliable and upbeat.
• I would prefer to have a PA who is female.
