Summary
Love late nights and a good laugh? Mike does too! He's looking for a fellow night owl to support him and share the fun along the way
Contract: 12hrs
Essential Requirements - Must be comfortable with lone working, being awake all night, and supporting with personal hygiene.
As a Night Team Member, you'll be supporting Mike with his evening and overnight routine, offering positive encouragement and helping him make healthy choices. The role includes some basic cooking, light household tasks, and supporting with personal hygiene - always with a focus on encouraging Mike's involvement and independence.
Mike has a great sense of humour and enjoys chatting and having a laugh with his team. His hobbies include gaming, music of all kinds, treasure hunting, gardening, metal detecting, and watching 80's cartoons and films. Mike especially values when his team shares his interests, because it helps him feel more connected and engaged.
We're looking for someone who is collaborative, even when working alone, and eager to keep learning and developing. Mike is autistic with a learning disability and needs support in understanding the 'why' and the 'how', but the team are there to find creative and unique ways of helping his understanding such as creating a bespoke newspaper that has helped Mike develop, think more about his health, and try new things.
Shifts run from 9pm to 9am, with rotas planned to support a healthy work-life balance. Reliability and responsibility are important, as the team is moving towards being self-directed, where everyone is encouraged to take ownership and show leadership when needed.
At the heart of it, this role is about helping Mike have a fulfilling and meaningful life - and knowing that you've made a difference by being part of it.
Ideally you will:
Be outgoing and have a good sense of humour.
Be highly self-motivated.
Be willing to learn and develop within your role.
Be empathetic and understanding towards others.
Be a great communicator for both Mike and the team.
Be a creative thinker.
Have similar interests to Mikes.
Have good computer skills.
Benefits:
We reward our staff with competitive salaries
We offer an Award Winning Pension Scheme
We have a company sick pay scheme
Excellent annual leave allowance, including top up pay
Critical Illness cover, reassurance when you need it the most
Life Insurance, reassurance for your family when they need it the most
A really good mandatory induction
Ongoing high quality training
Career development opportunities
A real chance to make a difference to someone's life
