FJA are recruiting on behalf of a leading service provider in the utilities industry for an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to strengthen their team.

Location: Croydon

Please note travel is required to various sites.

Health & Safety Advisor role:
This is an excellent opportunity for an advisor to further develop and enhance key skills within the fast-paced water leakage detection industry.
You will be joining a well-established leakage detection company, contracted to major water providers across the Southeast of England, reporting directly to the Contracts Managers and Health & Safety Manager.
Health & Safety Advisor responsibilities:
Assist the Health & Safety (H&S) Manager in developing and implementing policies and procedures.
Support the enhancement of the Health & Safety Management System (HSMS) and Integrated Management System (IMS) in accordance with OHSAS 9001, 14001, and 45001 standards.
Monitor workplace standards, processes, communications, training, and systems to ensure safety and minimise health risks.
Conduct site safety inspections and audits, producing detailed and actionable reports.
Support the H&S team in preparing method statements and risk assessments.
Provide guidance to employees on their statutory health and safety responsibilities.
Work with contract personnel and the H&S Manager to investigate accidents, incidents, dangerous occurrences, and near misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
Assist in reviewing existing procedures, policies, safe systems of work (SSOW), and system manuals.
Deliver H&S inductions both in-house and on-site.
Maintain and manage H&S records, producing reports as required.
Promote health and safety awareness across the organisation proactively.
Undertake any additional duties as required within the department.
Health & Safety Advisor requirements:
Strong practical knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations.
Proven experience in managing or supporting Health & Safety functions.
NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) is required.
Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all organisational levels.
Highly organised, with strong administrative skills and proficiency in MS Office and MS 365.
Full driving licence with the flexibility to travel across the Southeast of England as required.
Experience in training or supporting training initiatives is an advantage.
Able to work independently in a standalone role, as well as collaboratively within a team.
