Summary
Please note: 2 years' catering experience and 1 year's management experience are required for this role
JOB PURPOSE
* Manage and develop Jubilatte Café in keeping with the Christian ethos of the church
* Maintain & nurture a welcoming community hub, creating a safe space for all, including adults at risk and children
* Recruit, inspire, train and provide support to volunteers working in the café, including those with additional needs
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
*Plan menus and order supplies, maintaining stock, including cleaning materials for the whole building
* Prepare food and drink, and serve as required
* Maintain the 5-star food rating
* Take payments for orders and update prices as necessary
* Maintain financial records, liaise with the office for depositing cash payments
* Line-manage, train and support the Assistant Café Manager
* Recruit, train and manage the volunteer team working in the café
* Maintain a happy and harmonious environment for café users, volunteers, Immanuel Church Elders and staff
* Handle customer enquiries and complaints professionally and promptly
* Liaise with Elders about display of Christian elements in the café
* Be aware of all church activities and signpost accordingly, as required
* Supervise cleaning of the café and kitchen, ensuring beginning and end of day checks are completed
* Take bookings for group or party use of the café
* Liaise and assist with planning of special church events, such as the Summer Fayre
* Provide Elders with monthly written reports, monitoring and evaluating progress in the café
* Update Risk Assessments and Policies which apply to the café
* Be aware of, and comply with, the policies of Immanuel URC
* Keep up to date with applicable legislation
* Attend all mandatory training, including Safeguarding, Food Hygiene and Safety, First Aid and Health & Safety
* Take part in the church's annual appraisal and supervision process as required
* Complete any further tasks which may reasonably be requested by your Line manager
* Comply with the Expected Standards of Behaviour at Immanuel URC
