Summary

Recycling Outreach Officer

£25,000 - £28,000 per annum (depending on experience) | 8am - 4pm | Monday to Friday | Based in Rumney, Cardiff (CF3 2HP) | Full UK Driving Licence Required | Immediate Start About the Role:

We are excited to be building a brand-new team to improve recycling rates in blocks of flats across Cardiff. As a Recycling Outreach Officer, you'll play a vital role in engaging directly with residents, helping to make recycling easier, more effective, and more widely understood.

This is a hands-on, people-focused role - perfect for someone who enjoys being out and about, talking to the public, and making a positive impact in local communities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Visit communal bin areas to assess current waste and recycling provisions.
  • Install clear and accessible signage to guide residents.
  • Engage with residents through door-knocking, one-to-one conversations, and outreach events.
  • Educate the public on recycling best practices and answer their questions.
  • Support the wider team with scheduling, collections, and site improvements.
  • Carry out administrative tasks and keep accurate records using basic IT systems.
What We're Looking For:
  • Excellent communication and people skills - confident engaging with the public.
  • Friendly, proactive, and comfortable working independently.
  • Basic IT skills and confidence using mobile devices or tablets.
  • Organised, reliable, and a team player.
  • A full, clean UK driving licence is essential.
