What you'll do…

Lead and mentor a team of engineers across software, data, and architecture disciplines.

Architect and implement scalable, secure, and resilient systems using modern technologies.

Champion DevOps and CI/CD practices to enable continuous delivery and operational excellence.

Collaborate with stakeholders to align technical solutions with business goals.

Drive the evolution of our telephony and digital platforms into cloud-native, microservice-based ecosystems.

Promote a culture of engineering excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Ensure compliance with security, data governance, and regulatory standards.
What you'll need…
-
Modern Engineering knowledge from across a broad range of solutions and platforms, including microservices, build patterns, DevOps, automation, hosting, language and platform choices

Experience navigating complex systems architectures, comprised of modern and legacy solutions, and in-house and product solutions using both on-premise and Cloud hosting

Practical experience of software design, build and release using DevOps principles and practices, with working knowledge of Java, JSP, GCP, test automation and automated pipelines

An ability to manage complex delivery, bringing tams together from within and outside the Bank around a shared outcome to deliver successfully

Experience of mentoring and coaching engineers to build a world class engineering capability. A passion for coaching and developing colleagues and building a strong team culture.

An ever-developing knowledge of and interest in engineering principles, practices and technologies
And any experience of these would be really useful…

Experience with telephony platforms (e.g. Genesys, Twilio, Avaya, Nuance)

Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, Puppet)

Data engineering (ETL, SQL, Power BI, Tableau)

Secure-by-design principles and architectural patterns

Interest in AI, IoT, or service mesh (e.g. Istio)

NodeJS

A passion for delivering business value through sound engineering methods and principles

Experience of software quality tools such as SonarQube
