About the Role
As Finance Analyst you will work closely with our client's team of four Finance Business Partners and play a key role in supporting the month-end process, ensuring accurate financial information is delivered on time to help drive effective decision-making across the University.
This role offers the opportunity to gain valuable experience across a range of financial processes in a busy and supportive environment. You'll be able to develop your skills while building a strong foundation in management accounting and financial analysis, providing a solid platform for progression in your finance career.
What You'll Do:
- Prepare monthly reconciliations and journals to ensure accurate reporting.
- Carry out cost analysis, allocation reviews, and control checks.
- Assist with the bi-weekly capital expenditure process.
- Prepare and process monthly accruals and prepayments.
- Support the Finance Business Partners with reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis.
- Gain exposure to a broad range of finance processes, building your technical expertise and understanding of how finance supports wider strategic and operational goals.
What You'll Bring:
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach.
- Experience in a fast-paced business or finance function.
- Familiarity with finance systems.
- Strong MS Excel skills.
- Excellent numerical ability, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- General business or commercial awareness.
- An interest in, or intention to begin, studying towards an accountancy qualification (AAT, CIMA, ACCA, or similar).
