JOB OVERVIEW
We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Financial Analyst / Financial Contract Delivery Partner who is able to provide comprehensive financial support and insight to Contact & Relationship Managers, identifying financial risk and working with them to ensure the financial health of their portfolio.
Working as the Financial Analyst / Financial Contract Delivery Partner you will build a supportive, challenging and influential relationship with Contact & Relationship Managers, provide clear and insight driven reporting, and crucially act as a critical friend by proactively highlighting risks and concerns quickly.
As the Financial Analyst / Financial Contract Delivery Partner you will be responsible for accurately accounting for contracts within the financial systems using both finance and educational data and ensure accurate forecasts / budgets are provided for contracts that support the wider organisational finances.
DUTIES
Your duties as a Financial Analyst / Financial Contract Delivery Partner will include:
• Reporting: Transform complex financial data into structured reporting that delivers clear, actionable insights for CRMs; utilise internal expertise within the MIS and Funding Assurance team to ensure educational data collected through the ILR is reflected accurately within the financial data; prepare monthly risk reports highlighting current risks and proposed mitigations
• Analysis: Partner with CRMs to optimise critical financial and educational metrics including average class size, profitability of courses and other key metrics; challenge and provide insight into the various course and learner mix to understand current performance, effectiveness of provision and drive future growth and profitability
• Month End: Ensure contracts are accounted for in a timely and accurate manner including processing journals and taking corrective action to ensure the ledgers are a true reflection of contract performance
• Funder Submissions: Complete funder returns in a timely manner collaborating with CRMs and MIS team to ensure data is accurate and funding methodologies are followed and understood correctly
• Business Planning: Partner with CRMs in curriculum planning cycle to ensure that contracts can be delivered to their full income level, and at the desired margin, through effective financial modelling and cost control
• Partnering: Build and maintain strong working relationships with the CRMs, ensuring both teams are working in alignment and supporting the delivery of the contracts through both educational and financial analysis
• Demonstrates an in-depth knowledge of their portfolio of contracts through accurate, timely and risk-focused reporting
• Promotes a strong working relationship with CRMs through regular meetings and shared knowledge
• Produces accurate budgets / forecasts using analysis of current performance and planned educational activity to refine future income and delivery costs
• Produces accurate funder returns in line with agreed funder deadlines by working in collaboration with CRMs and MIS
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
• Experience of grant and procured funded project accounting
• Proven track record in partnering a business unit/team in a challenging environment with evidence of success
• Experience of working with large data sets
• Can evidence collaboration with stakeholders that has led to effective problem solving
• Can demonstrate experience of establishing a supportive, challenging and influential relationship with key stakeholders
• Experience of month end / year end close procedures
• Qualified Accountant (desirable)
• An analytical, skilled problem solver with the ability to take a problem and, using relevant financial and operational data, prepare relevant analyses to support decision making
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders
