An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Health Care Assistant to join the Specialist Children and Young People’s Services (SCYPS) in Newham.
SCYPS are a range of busy, forward thinking and thriving child health services with a positive work culture and excellent CPD opportunities. This post sits within the Child Development Service, working in the CHAND (CHildren with Autism in Newham Diagnosis) team.
The postholder will work within the Specialist Children and Young People’s Service (SCYPS) in Newham primarily based at West Ham Lane Health Centre providing vital support to the Paediatrician and other clinician’s clinics. The role will involve patient contact including growth monitoring and collection of pre-clinic information, stock ordering and management, collection of patient feedback and maintenance of infection control procedures within the clinical setting whilst ensuring a child friendly environment.
The postholder will be expected to work as part of a team to provide clinical, administrative and stock maintenance support in clinical areas in the Child Development Centre at Lord Lister Health Centre.
The postholder will be expected to; carry out clinical and administrative tasks, assist the clinicians in the outpatient clinic to obtain health information and child growth measurement, collect other necessary information before the patients are seen by the clinicians, support with recording clinical activity and with collecting patient feedback.
The postholder will also have a responsibility to ensure that the assigned clinical areas are tidy and ordered at all times, maintaining the hygiene and cleanliness of the environment in the outpatient clinic setting according to trust infection control procedures
