Summary

Part-time position with flexible hours now available

Heatherley, a beautiful home for up to 32 adults with physical and learning disabilities, is nestled in 17 acres of stunning countryside in Copthorne, West Sussex, just a short drive from Crawley.

*Additional pay of £1.50 per hour will be provided for night shifts from 8pm to 7am, Monday to Sunday (excluding sleep-ins). An additional weekend pay of £2.00 per hour will be given for shifts from 7am to 8pm on Saturdays and Sundays.

We are seeking an experienced Cook to join our fantastic team. You will be responsible for creating a diverse and nutritious menu that caters to specific dietary requirements for our residents in our care home.

Within a set budget, you will oversee the efficient running of the kitchen, supervising staff members who assist with food preparation. You will maintain exceptional levels of cleanliness and hygiene at all times, ensuring compliance with Health and Safety regulations.

This role also offers the opportunity to showcase your creativity by providing catering services for our special events and functions. Being a part of our celebrations throughout the year is an exciting aspect of this role!

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• Previous experience in a kitchen environment.
• A recognised catering qualification (Level 3 Food Hygiene Certificate and additional HACCP accreditation, or Level 4 Food Hygiene Certificate / commitment to work towards).
• Flexibility to work varying hours as required.

*We are currently reviewing our enhancement rates and may make changes in the future. If our proposal is accepted, starting from 1 December 2025, new enhancement rates of £1.00 per hour will only apply to night shifts (from 8pm Monday to 7am Friday) and weekend shifts (from 8pm Friday to 7am Monday). This will not affect sleep-in shifts.
