Summary

We are looking for a driven Apprentice Development Manager to join a global independent soft drinks manufacturer with 78 manufacturing sites worldwide including 6 sites in the UK based in Bridgewater (TA6).

- Salary is £40,000pa (pro rata)
- Flexible: - 3 full days or 5 shorter days (up to 25 hours per week)

As an Apprentice Development Manager, you will take full ownership of the site’s engineering apprenticeship programmes, managing a pool of up to 20 apprentices. This will include both 16–18-year-olds and adult apprentices, ensuring tailored support is provided across different learning needs and career stages. You’ll lead the end-to-end process of programme design, delivery, monitoring, and improvement.

As the main point of contact for apprentices, training providers, and internal managers, you’ll ensure progress is tracked effectively, milestones are achieved, and training delivery remains aligned to the site’s operational and skills requirements. You’ll monitor apprentice performance closely, providing feedback, coaching, and intervention where required.

The role also carries responsibility for ensuring compliance with apprenticeship standards and levy requirements, while embedding a culture of continuous improvement in training and skills development. By managing the full programme structure end-to-end, you will directly support succession planning & play a key role in developing future engineering talent site.

Ideally you will be an experienced manager of apprenticeship. Hold a recognised qualification in training, coaching, or engineering, with at least 2 years’ experience overseeing apprenticeships & partnering with training providers, schools, or colleges. Ability to manage a pool of apprentices across both 16–18-year-olds and adults and demonstrate a clear understanding of apprenticeship standards, levy compliance, and programme monitoring.

Apprentice Development Manager: Key responsibilities

- Lead and manage the site’s engineering apprenticeship programmes from recruitment to completion.
- Support and monitor up to 20 apprentices (16–18-year-olds and adults), providing tailored coaching and feedback.
- Act as the main liaison with apprentices, training providers, schools/colleges, and internal managers.
- Ensure compliance with apprenticeship standards, levy requirements, and company policies.
- Drive continuous improvement in programme delivery to support succession planning and future engineering talent.
