We are looking Senior Digital Portfolio Managers who will play a pivotal role in overseeing a portfolio of digital projects that support the Department’s strategic goals.

As a Senior Digital Portfolio Manager, you will have an in-depth understanding of, and be able to promote, the strategic and organisational plans and vision for Digital, including comprehensive knowledge of a Director’s Business Plan and broad understanding of Digital’s Strategic aims and objectives.

You’ll drive the development of clear roadmaps, help shape high-value initiatives, and guide teams through planning, project shaping and assurance. Working across Digital, you’ll bring together delivery, financial, architectural, and service insights to enable informed decision-making, mitigate risk, and drive outcomes.

Working with key stakeholders, you will drive effective prioritisation and apply it to inform delivery decisions.  You will develop a strong understanding of the performance and risk profile of both live delivery and pipeline activity, enabling you to provide high-quality visibility and insight to stakeholders. You will support the setup of new projects and identify opportunities that align with strategic priorities, offering clear analysis, options and recommendations based on value. 

With excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, you will manage multiple workstreams, keep initiatives on track, and unblock issues quickly. You will oversee governance activities, plan quality assurance points, and monitor Board-level decisions and actions to support seamless delivery. You will identify and manage inter project dependencies to reduce risk and maintain momentum.

You will be a proactive and visible leader, guiding teams to identify risks early, make best use of tools and data, and maintain high standards. You will lead and inspire your team, fostering a culture of excellence. You will lead your team in identifying future risks and blockers, helping to embed the use of tooling and information to spot planning and delivery risks, escalating to senior leadership across the Department where necessary.

Alongside portfolio leadership, you will actively contribute to the broader community and practice. This includes recruitment, line management, coaching, identifying appropriate training and setting the standards and frameworks for your team.
