Social Worker – Safeguarding & Support (PERM) - Childrens Services

Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Social Worker for our Safeguarding & Support team within Children's Services. This permanent position requires an individual who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and families in our community. As a Social Worker, you will be responsible for conducting assessments, developing intervention plans, and ensuring the safety and well-being of vulnerable children. You will work closely with families, children, and other professionals to provide support and intervention services tailored to each unique situation. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a firm understanding of safeguarding protocols, and the ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders. This role involves not only direct casework but also participating in multi-agency meetings, providing reports, and engaging with community resources to strengthen support networks. Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive assessments of children and families in need of support.
Develop, implement, and review care plans in collaboration with children, families, and other agencies.
Provide direct support and counseling to children and their families to address safeguarding issues.
Ensure that all case records are accurately maintained and kept up to date according to regulatory requirements.
Participate in multi-agency meetings, effectively communicating findings and recommendations to various stakeholders.
Act as an advocate for children, ensuring their voices are heard and their rights are upheld throughout the safeguarding process.
Monitor and review progress on cases, making necessary adjustments to care plans as needed.
Requirements
A recognized social work qualification (e.g., BA/MA in Social Work) and current registration with the relevant regulatory body.
Experience in child protection, safeguarding, and working within family support services.
Strong understanding of legislation and policy frameworks relevant to children's services.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with children and families from diverse backgrounds.
Proven ability to work collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a caseload effectively and efficiently.
Commitment to ongoing professional development and training in child safeguarding and support services.

Hours Per Week: 37.00
Start Time: 09:00
End Time: 17:00
Pay Per Hour: £50.00
