Summary
As an Engineering Support Officer, you will play a crucial role in our construction and engineering operations, providing technical and administrative support to deliver high-quality ICP (Independent Connection Provider) services.
Responsibilities & Accountabilities
• Request and manage utility records (STATS).
• Identify highway ownership and boundaries (Highway Extents).
• Source and interpret Ordnance Survey maps.
• Manage legal documents and liaise with ESL teams.
• Collect, file, and organise ‘As-Laid’ drawings for completed sites.
• Assist in creating standard engineering drawings (e.g., single-line diagrams, construction layouts, earthing, GRP plinth designs, metering).
• Support Senior Design Engineers in developing new engineering standards.
• Participate in regular training/ learning activities to maintain and develop skills and knowledge.
• Adhere to all Stark policies, procedures and working practices.
• Ensure the health and safety of yourself and others who may be affected by what you do; use work equipment provided safely and co-operate with managers to provide safe systems of work.
• Any other reasonable duties as required.
Technical Skills & Knowledge:
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
• AutoCAD, GIS platforms, MS Excel, project tracking tools (e.g., MS Project, Asta).
• G81 standards, UK utility regulations, CDM Regulations.
• Experience with LV/HV electrical networks in ICP environments.
• Keep up to date with advances in business area, new methods and ways of working.
• Strong administrative and organisational skills.
• Intermediate knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook
• Confident and accurate use of departmental computer systems/databases.
• Degree or HNC in Electrical Engineering (or a related discipline).
• Experience in LV/HV design for an ICP, DNO, or IDNO
• Proficient in design tools such as AutoCAD or Windebut.
• Sound understanding of G81 standards and UK compliance frameworks
