Summary

We are seeking a Lead Installation Operative to oversee and carry out the installation of our innovative SolarLite Path solution. This is a hands-on, physically demanding role that requires a high level of fitness, attention to detail, and the ability to lead a small team on-site. You will be working with specialist tools, including handheld coring machines, to install solar-powered pathway lighting in a variety of environments.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and participate in the physical installation of solar powered studs across various sites.
- Operate handheld coring machines and other power tools safely and efficiently.
- Ensure all installations meet company standards and client specifications.
- Conduct site assessments and prepare for installations, including marking out and coring.
- Supervise and support operatives, ensuring safe working practices.
- Liaise with installation manager and clients to ensure smooth delivery of projects.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.

Requirements:
- Proven experience in a similar hands-on installation role.
- Physically fit and capable of manual handling and outdoor work in all weather conditions.
- Competent in the use of handheld coring machines and other power tools.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Full UK driving licence (essential).
- CSCS card or equivalent (preferred).
- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including overnight stays as required.

Desirable:
- Experience with solar installations.
- First Aid certification.
- SSSTS qualification.

Technical Proficiency – Skilled in using handheld coring machines, power tools, and basic construction equipment.

Site Leadership – Ability to lead small teams on-site, delegate tasks, and ensure smooth operations.

Time Management – Ability to manage time effectively and meet installation deadlines.

Documentation – Competent in recording installation details, site notes, and material usage.

This is a full-time role with a competitive basic salary and overtime as required. In addition, the company offers a suitable highways work vehicle, phone allowance, a contributory pension scheme, death in service benefit and 25 days annual leave (+8 days bank holiday).

The role is field based and needs to be commutable to the Milton Keynes head office. A clean driving license is essential, as the role requires UK wide travel. Overnight stays away from home may also be necessary as required.
