Summary

Job Description

You will manage a number of teams within the Trading Standards Service, some of whom work non standard hours, including evenings and weekends. You must have experience of managing or supervising staff, have excellent communication skills and an ability to plan work activities and make decisions in accordance with the needs of the Council. You will require to hold a professional Trading Standards qualification - Degree/Diploma in Trading Standards (DTS), or stages 1, 2 and 3 of the Chartered Trading Standards Institute (CTSI) Professional Competency Framework (CPCF) (Equivalent of Degree –SCQF9), or equivalent. You will be the Chief Inspector / Deputy Chief Inspector of Weights & Measures. Interviews will be held on Wednesday 10th Sept 2025.

Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme will be essential on taking up appointment. Please note successful candidates for the above position will be required to pay for their PVG Membership/or Scheme Checks.
