About the Role


Operational Services for Education (OSfE) are committed to delivering professional, efficient, friendly, high quality, value for money services to the majority of schools in Trafford using experienced staff.

Our aim in the Catering Service is to ensure that children receive a balanced and nutritious meal, which supports them in optimising their achievement and attainment levels. The Cleaning Service delivers building cleaning to schools, the private sector and Trafford’s admin buildings, both these services operate in a competitive market. OSfE also delivers the Council’s 71 school crossing patrols across the borough.

The post holder will be required to carry out continuous reviews of the OSfE service delivery maximising their experience and exemplar leadership skills to quantify over achievements and rectify underperformance, evidencing value for money to our customers.

The post holder needs to ensure the allocation of resources (annually, termly, weekly and monthly), expenditure etc are verified within their allocated contracts to ensure their viability and sustainability throughout contract period. This requires consideration of supplies, possible changes to service delivery that may be introduced part way through contracts, sufficient staffing levels for the contract period.

Weekly monitoring of performance is also required of poorly performing contracts to identify errors / anomalies within performance returns, it is necessary to work swiftly to resolve poor performance and to identify future problems and possible resolutions.
The post holder will be the first point of contact for our customers providing professional high-quality customer service across OSfE to ensure delivery of an efficient and effective day to day service to key stakeholders.

About you

Above all you will be a great organizer with excellent communication and management skills, balancing priorities, completing tasks efficiently and to a high standard.

You will also have significant experience of managing staff and contracts across numerous sites. Whilst the role encompasses both catering and cleaning we are looking for someone with contract catering experience or contract cleaning and/or soft facilities management experience who is prepared to develop on the catering side.

You will also have excellent ICT office skills and able to utilize a range of systems producing high quality reports and a professional qualification in either Catering or Cleaning.

The post holder must be flexible and participate on a rota basis; covering the core hours of the service of 7:30am 17:30pm and be able to travel to sites within Greater Manchester.
