Summary
Steelcraft specialises in the design, manufacture, and installation of high-quality architectural metalwork, including railings, gates & juliet balconies.
**Due to a current contract, this is a late-shift role 3pm-9pm Weekdays and 8am-5pm Saturdays. It could in future become a weekday daytime permanent role.***
We are looking for a Lead Installer to head a two-person installation team, ensuring our projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. We would accept applications from existing 2-person teams and subcontractors.
As a Lead Installer, you will oversee and participate in the installation of metalwork on-site. You will ensure that all work is completed in accordance with engineering drawings, project specifications, and health & safety regulations. Additionally, you will be responsible for supervising your assistant, coordinating with the Installation Manager, and maintaining quality control.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and work alongside an assistant installer to complete installations efficiently.
Interpret and work from CAD drawings and method statements.
Ensure all installations meet the company’s quality standards.
Liaise with site Installation Manager
Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively.
Conduct manual handling tasks and work at height as required.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to health & safety regulations.
Identify and resolve any on-site challenges to ensure smooth project completion.
Requirements
Essential:
Proven experience in fence installation or similar.
Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings.
Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
Good communication and teamwork abilities.
Full, clean driving licence.
CSCS card.
Highly Advantageous:
SMAW (stick) welding experience.
Additional certifications such as SSSTS, PASMA, or IPAF.
