Summary
1.1. To sterilize instrument packs by use of dual temperature steam autoclaves and other sterilizing equipment as necessary. To identify the different types of equipment for high temp sterilization and low temp sterilization. 1.2. To be able to recognise single use equipment and dispose of as appropriate. 1.3. To be competent in the use of HSDU/CSSD equipment, including modern industrial washing machines and autoclaves. 1.4. Be able to undertake the necessary tests of the above equipment, i.e Bowie Dick etc. 1.5. Be proficient in the instrument tracking system. 1.6. To maintain stocks and supplies associated with the sterile services departments. 1.7. To receive raw materials and distribute raw materials to the production area, ensuring that all materials have been booked out in accordance with the quality procedure. 1.8. To maintain a clean and safe environment within the sterile services. 1.9. To be flexible, and ensure that all areas of the working unit are adequately covered.
