Job title: Personal Assistant (PA)
Reporting to: The Employer
Location: Wednesfield, Wolverhampton WV11
Job purpose:
To assist with a variety of tasks which will assist the person who needs care and support to live their personal and social life according to their wishes and interests.
About the employer:
Our client is a 16-year-old male living with his parents in the Wednesfield area of Wolverhampton who is looking to recruit 2 Personal Assistants to provide support during term-time and non-term-time.
Our client is autistic and has ADHD. He is a happy fun adventurous boy with varying interests. He is not a fan of lots of noises and wears ear defenders to help with this when out in the community, he requires 2-1 due to his lack of impulse control.
Main duties:
Social duties
Keep in touch and socialise with family and friends
Support accessing and travelling on public transport
Support visiting various museums
Support to access parks
Domestic duties: Helping our client manage money when out is important too. Our client may try and pick things up in shops without paying, so talking him through the way to purchase things is required.
These duties may vary from day-to-day.
Type of person that you/they are looking for:

Specific requirements: Someone with previous work experience of supporting young people with Autism and additional needs.
Hours of work: 14 hours per month during school time & 12 hours per week during school holidays.
Rate of pay: £13.50 per hour
Skills, qualifications, and experience
Essential:
Driving licence
Car and appropriate insurance
Previous experience required
Confidentiality
Good at building relationships good communicator
A good listener
Ability to support people with behaviours which challenge.
Successful applicants will require DBS checks & Employment References.
This role is funded by the Local Authority and is paid 4 weekly.
