Summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming private school in Essex. This role is an excellent opportunity to contribute to students' academic progress, wellbeing, and confidence while working closely with teachers and other staff members.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will provide classroom support, deliver small-group interventions, and offer one-to-one guidance to students who may need extra help accessing the curriculum. You will also assist with behaviour management, preparation of resources, and creating a positive learning environment where every student can succeed.

Key Responsibilities

Provide in-class support to teachers and students across a range of subjects


Deliver small-group or one-to-one learning sessions as directed


Assist in behaviour management and promote a positive learning environment


Support students with additional needs to access the curriculum


Help prepare learning resources and classroom materials


Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to staff


Contribute to extracurricular activities and wider school life


Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and parents


Qualifications and Experience

Previous experience supporting children or young people in an educational setting (desirable)


Strong literacy and numeracy skills


Excellent communication and interpersonal skills


Ability to work effectively as part of a team


Patience, empathy, and resilience when supporting students


Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
