An exciting position has become available for a SEN Teaching Assistant within a high-achieving 6th Form College. The role involves providing tailored learning support to young people with additional needs, helping them access the curriculum and thrive both academically and personally. This is a perfect stepping stone for graduates who are considering careers in education, psychology, or specialist support services.

Main Duties: SEN Teaching Assistant

• Work closely with students who have SEN, delivering personalised support inside and outside of lessons.
• Help adapt classroom resources to meet a variety of learning needs.
• Maintain accurate records, including updates to EHCP documentation.
• Encourage student independence, resilience, and confidence in learning.
• Contribute to creating a supportive, inclusive, and engaging environment.

Person Specification: SEN Teaching Assistant

• A degree in psychology or a related discipline is advantageous.
• Must be a graduate candidate SEN Teaching Assistant with a 1st or 2;1 calibre degree
• Previous experience supporting children or young people is desirable, but full training will be provided.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a patient and adaptable approach.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general IT systems.
• Solid academic background (A Levels and GCSEs) preferred.
