Summary
We are looking for Class 2 HGV Drivers to work as Winter Maintenance Gritter Drivers on a standby basis for our client in Drayton, Oxfordshire.
This is a seasonal driving role running from 1st November 2025 to 28th March 2026, with guaranteed weekly standby payments plus additional earnings when called out. Ideal for experienced Class 2 HGV drivers seeking extra income over the winter period.
Operate Class 2 winter gritting vehicles safely and efficiently
Attend site within 1 hour of being called in (severe weather driving conditions apply)
Complete tachograph and compliance requirements (weekly digi card downloads)
Work shifts of up to 5 hours gritting, including possible 2 shifts in 24 hours (with 10-hour rest period between)
Respond to call-outs at short notice (early mornings, late evenings, weekends)
Attend daily 11:00am meetings during standby period
Work in all winter conditions, ensuring safe roads for the public
