Key accountabilities

We are currently looking to recruit a number of roles within our Real Estate Projects and Investment teams. The roles available are as follows:

SPI assistant Programme Manager

  • Supports DWP Programme Managers on all aspects for project/portfolio management as directed, to ensure successful end to end project delivery to time, cost and plan.
  • Supports the DWP Programme Managers with identification of risks, issues and mitigations/action plans, and in keeping RAID Log up to date.
  • Supports the DWP Programme Managers to ensure LCW projects are delivered in compliance with all legislative, Health & Safety, contractual requirements and relevant building/engineering standards; obtaining specialist advice or confirmation where appropriate. Provides input and challenge to ensure workplace/technical design standards are compliant.
  • Supports the DWP Programme Managers to manage contractors and their outputs. Liaises and works in partnership to ensure key functions and all partners are engaged/ and coordinated to ensure successful end to end delivery of a portfolio of projects, and flags/escalates issues/risks, including hand over processes and documentation
  • Supports the DWP LCW Programme Managers by collaborating and identifying processes, procedures and good working practices that can be shared to support the development of the wider Team.
  • Support with project communications in terms of review of progress updates and preparation activity, ensuring communication is made in a straightforward, honest and engaging manner, has a clear purpose and takes into account people’s individual needs
  • Assists the DWP Programme Managers to bring together views, perspectives and diverse needs of all stakeholders/Suppliers to gain a broader understanding/ resolution of risks/issues surrounding policies and project delivery.
  • Builds and maintains a network of colleagues and key interfaces in the supply chain and EPMS to ensure data, MI and reporting is accurate, appropriate and relevant.
  • Supports the DWP Programme Managers and Commercial Management Team in the procurement of professional services consultants and works contractors to undertake project specific inspections, detailed design and delivery where required.
  • Feeds into the performance review of suppliers, liaising closely with Supply Chain Managers, Category Management Team, Performance and Audit team, Cost Management and Finance BP as required, and reporting relevant outcomes/issues to DWP Programme Managers /Senior Programme Manager
  • Supports the DWP Programme Managers to ensure regular/accurate project, cost profiling and spend reporting is produced, obtaining input from the Quantity Surveying / Cost Management Team as required
  • Liaise with key stakeholders and senior customers in all aspects of project management, presenting strong recommendations in a timely manner outlining the consideration of other options, costs, benefits, and risks.
  • Responsible for processing Purchase Orders and Applications for Payment as directed with 100% accuracy to agreed SLA
  • Ensures all project shared folders, and documents held on SharePoint are current/accurately maintained.

WTP assistant programme Manager

  • Ensure plans and activities reflect wider strategic priorities and support senior leaders to influence future strategies
  • Help to prepare and evaluate project highlight reports, including cost management and procurement. Analysing and using a range of relevant, credible information from internal and external sources to support decisions.
  • Prepare evidence that all of DWP’s major projects meet all statutory and legislative standards and are delivered in compliance with DWP’s policies and governance procedures. Work with Deputy / Project Managers to develop and implement a robust process to ensure DWP sites are fit for purpose and support the business.
  • Assist with Project Stakeholder management and mapping, including liaison and incorporating senior client requirements. Ensuring you understand the strategic drivers for Estates, and align activities to contribute to the wider organisational priorities.
  • Support with project communications in terms of review of progress updates and preparation activity, ensuring communication is made in a straightforward, honest and engaging manner, has a clear purpose and takes into account people’s individual needs.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders and senior customers in all aspects of project management, presenting strong recommendations in a timely manner outlining the consideration of other options, costs, benefits, and risks.
  • Support senior colleagues to maintain oversight of project management across the portfolio with contractual responsibility for and management of the supplier partners implementing the delivery of all construction works, acquisitions and facilities.
  • Support the Integrator supplier partner through contribution to Project Planning, Risk Review and coordination with Architectural and Technical design standards, encouraging joined up teamwork across all groups of colleagues collaborating to share information and support as required.
  • Review of detailed and technical design of projects ensuring they successfully deliver high quality outcomes that meet the customers’ needs and effective in providing good value for money.
  • Support the development of FF&E schedules and procurement as required.
  • Support Deputy Project Manager and H&S colleagues on provision and authorisation of Environment, Health and Safety standards, along with reporting of non-compliance and issue resolution.
  • Support with the management of project change and approval processes, review and make recommendations on Change requests taking managed risks by fully considering the varied impacts changes could have on the diverse range of end users
  • Support the commissioning of snagging works, obtaining completion certificates and hand
