Summary
This is a 10PA locum appointment for a Consultant in Adult Congenital Heart Disease. This post will deliver 10PAs supporting the adult congenital heart disease team. The post will be based at Leeds General Infirmary. The ACHD service in LTHT cares for patients over the age of 16 years born with congenital heart disease living in Yorkshire and the Humber, a population of around 5.5 million. The objectives of this post is to deliver care to patients with adult congenital heart disease at the Leeds General Infirmary Out-patient clinics Cover of inpatients, acute referrals and out-of-hours care on a 1:6 rota Contribute to Specialist multi-disciplinary team meetings To link with Consultant colleagues in other relevant site specialist teams within the congenital cardiology department and across the Trust. To contribute to research, teaching and new developments within the adult congenital cardiology department. The post holder will be encouraged to facilitate and contribute to the current clinical research programs on going in the department. It may be possible to accommodate an ACHD subspecialty interest. The appointee will be expected to contribute and, where appropriate, take the lead in the following: Mortality and morbidity meetings; Clinical audit programmes; Development and application of agreed clinical guidelines. This is to be included in allocated time in the individuals job plan as a supporting programmed activity. It would be expected that the time allocated for this would include attendance at the relevant departmental audit meeting(s) and that such attendance would be recorded (in accordance with the Trusts clinical audit policy). In the discharge of these responsibilities the candidate will be expected to maintain and update his/her skills and knowledge through appropriate continuing medical education.
