The Paediatric Occupational Therapy service offers a high quality service to all eligible children aged from birth to school leaving age who live or attend school in Camden or who are registered with a Camden GP. The service covers more than 50 primary and secondary schools, special schools and units, nurseries and children’s centres as well as specialist services to Camden Mosaic (CDT). The caseload is varied and there is much opportunity to develop specialist skills in the areas of ASD, SI and NDT as well as the provision of special equipment and assistive technology. The paediatric OT service is integrated with Social Care OT and there is much joint working and collaboration with health OTs routinely taking responsibility for equipment in the home.

The post will potentially become permanent after the 12 months due to service restructuring.

A vacancy has arisen for a Band 5 Occupational Therapists with some previous experience in paediatrics either as a student or band 5 required to join our large community based paediatric team.

The post holder will be based at Swiss Cottage school and will need to demonstrate knowledge of paediatric OT clinical practice and previous experience as an OT student in paediatrics is desirable although not essential. There are opportunities to rotate to the other services, depending on the needs of the services and the aspirations of the professionals.
