The Team
The events team plays a key role at the University, organising key internal events for the University such as our graduation ceremonies and the School of the Arts Festival, as well as a large variety of other large and small events. In addition, the team oversees a range of events involving key partners of the University, as well as offering University facilities to outside clients in order to raise commercial income.
The team is a friendly, multi functional team, which enjoys a good reputation both within and outside of York St John.
The Role
The Graduate Intern in the Events team will provide a range of administrative and practical support to Events colleagues to facilitate the smooth running of events and the delivery of an effective and efficient office. The role covers both computer-based work and ‘hands on’ support in advance of and at specific events. As a key member of the Events Team, contribute to the correct use of systems and processes that enable the effective running of the service and act as an advocate for the annual programme.
As a graduate entry level role, opportunities will also be provided for learning and development to support the post holder’s career aspirations and lay the foundations for a variety of further opportunities.
Required Skills and Experience
We are seeking an individual that has experience of working in wide range of events. The ideal candidate will have good organisational skills and attention to deal and also be an accomplished communicator. The candidate will be supported in key decisions, but will be expected to be able to work autonomously and be able to make day to day decisions on progressing their events projects.

Although some flexibility will be offered around working from home, this role will require the role holder to be available to be on campus for the majority of the working week and also to be available to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends where necessary.
