PS Ltd are recruiting a Trade Counter Assistant for a nationwide company based in Maidstone, Kent
This is a great opportunity for someone with a background in trade counter, retail, or warehouse environments who thrives in a customer-facing role and enjoys being part of a close-knit team.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Be the face of the branch – serve customers at the trade counter, by phone, and via email with a helpful, solution-focused approach.
Process sales orders accurately using our internal systems, always aiming for a smooth and efficient customer experience.
Mix and colour-match wood finishes (oils, stains, lacquers) to meet customer specifications.
Support customers with product advice, availability, and technical knowledge (training provided).
Assist with stock control – including stock takes, restocking, and maintaining product availability for our customers.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organised warehouse to ensure a positive and professional customer experience at all times.
Actively support branch sales growth by building strong local customer relationships.
Provide support to the Branch Manager, including stepping up in their absence.
What We’re Looking For:
Previous experience in customer-facing roles (trade counter, retail, or warehouse).
Strong communication skills and a genuine desire to help customers.
A proactive, positive attitude with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Reliable, well-organised, and keen to take ownership of day-to-day responsibilities.
