Summary
The Role
This unique position combines the commercial and contracted expertise of a quantity surveyor with the relationship building and strategic drive of a business developer. You will manage the financial aspects of coating projects while actively identifying and securing new opportunities for the business.
Key Responsibilities
Business development:
- Identify, target, and win new business opportunities in key industrial and infrastructure sectors
- Build and maintain strong long term client relationship
- Attend networking events, trade shows, and client meeting to generate leads
- Work with management to develop strategic growth plans
- Prepare and present proposals to prospective clients
Quantity Surveying:
- Prepare, submit, and negotiate tenders, quotations, and contract variations
- Measure and value work completed on site
- Manage budgets, forecasts, and costs control throughout project life cycles
- Ensure compliance with contractual, legal, and safety standards
Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in quantity surveying, commercial management, or related field
- NACE or ICorr certification preferred, but not essential
- Previous sales or business development experience advantageous
About You
- Proven track record in business development or sales, ideally within protective coatings, paints, or industrial surface treatments
- Strong network within industrial and infrastructure sectors.
- Excellent negotiation, presentation and communication skills
- Technical knowledge of coating products, application methods, and industry standards (e.g., ISO, NACE, SSPC)
- Highly motivated, target driven, and able to work independently
- Willingness to travel as required
