ISS, a leading provider of facilities services in the UK, is looking for a Fabric Technician to join our team in South Lanarkshire.
The Fabric Engineer will play a key role in helping ISS deliver on our vision to become the world’s greatest service organisation, supporting our customers’ purpose through outstanding service performance and people empowerment.
Job Description
Focused on providing a world-class and consistent building maintenance service, you will carry out a range of engineering tasks across client properties in the designated region.
This will include plumbing, carpentry, and fabric-related repairs, maintenance, and installations, ensuring our stakeholders receive the highest standard of workmanship and care.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out fabric PPM, proactive, and reactive works within agreed timeframes
Perform building services maintenance, including exterior works, plumbing, painting, and carpentry
Undertake external grounds maintenance and callout duties as per rota
Monitor contractors, issue permits to work, and ensure standards are met
Ensure all equipment operates to performance criteria and meets company standards
Maintain accurate records, ensure H&S compliance, and meet contractual requirements
Provide a professional service, address client concerns, and suggest service improvements
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
NVQ/City & Guilds in carpentry or related trade, or time-served with extensive carpentry/joinery experience
Recognised craft apprenticeship preferred
IPAF/PASMA certified
Full UK driving licence
Strong experience in plumbing, carpentry, and fabric maintenance, including fault finding and installation
Proven track record in reactive and planned building services maintenance
Experience working to strict Health & Safety procedures, risk assessments, and method statements
