Summary
Management of Cryptographic Material:
Maintain accurate records of all cryptographic material held within the unit, ensuring it is accounted for, stored, and distributed in accordance with relevant regulations.
Conduct regular audits and inspections of cryptographic holdings to ensure compliance with security policies and procedures.
Manage the receipt, issue, and destruction of cryptographic material, ensuring all actions are properly documented and authorised
Oversight of the Classified Books Officer:
Manage the activities of the Classified Books Officer, ensuring the secure handling, storage, and distribution of classified publications and documents.
Ensure compliance with all relevant policies and procedures governing the management of classified materials.
Conduct regular checks and audits of classified holdings to maintain accountability and security
Compliance and Security:
Ensure all cryptographic and classified material activities comply with relevant national and Ministry of Defence (MOD) policies.
Implement and enforce strict security measures to protect cryptographic and classified material from unauthorised access, loss, or compromise.
Act as the primary point of contact for all cryptographic and classified material security matters within the unit.
Training and Awareness:
Provide guidance and training to personnel on the proper handling and use of cryptographic and classified material.
Promote awareness of cryptographic and classified material security policies and procedures across the unit.
Incident Management:
Investigate and report any incidents involving the loss, compromise, or misuse of cryptographic or classified material in accordance with MOD protocols.
Implement corrective actions to prevent future incidents and improve security measures.
Liaison and Coordination:
Liaise with higher-level authorities, including the MOD and other military units, to ensure the timely receipt and distribution of cryptographic and classified material.
Coordinate with other departments to support operational requirements involving secure communications and classified materials.
Other Duties:
Undertake additional tasks as directed by the establishment security officer or senior leadership to support the secure communication and classified material needs of RNAS Culdrose.
