About the Role

We are looking to recruit a Bid Manager to play a pivotal role in leading and managing the tendering process for new contracts. This is a great opportunity for an experienced bid professional ready for the next step in their career, with scope for progression and development.

The Bid Manager will oversee the end-to-end bid process, from pre-qualification to final submission, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, compliant, and compelling proposals that help secure sustainable and profitable projects.

Key Responsibilities

Take ownership of the entire bid process, from initial enquiry through to submission and final negotiation.

Establish and lead bid teams, ensuring clear roles, responsibilities, and deadlines are met.

Chair bid strategy meetings to align stakeholders and objectives.

Build and maintain a bid library infrastructure.

Manage communications with clients (via portals or email).

Oversee the bid sign-off and governance process.

Draft core bid responses and coordinate technical input.

Collate and submit final bid documents, ensuring compliance with client requirements.

Support the sales lead with research and bid strategy.

Act as the main point of contact for all team members involved.

Conduct post-bid reviews to identify lessons learned and implement improvements.

Stay up to date with industry trends, procurement methods, and competitor activity.

Skills & Knowledge

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence engaging stakeholders at senior level.

Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.

A proactive, self-starter attitude with adaptability to ambiguity.

Ability to build positive relationships and bring teams together.

Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office365.

Growth mindset and willingness to learn, while supporting others to do the same.

Experience / Qualifications

Previous experience in a bidding environment with a strong understanding of the bid/sales cycle.

Proven ability to help develop and deliver compelling client propositions.

Track record of winning bids and managing complex, high-value tenders.

Experience producing high-quality collateral for presentations and submissions.

Desirable:

Knowledge of the construction sector.

Familiarity with effective presentation and marketing approaches.
