Summary

Job Title: Scaffolder
Location: Winchester
Reports To: Site Supervisor / Scaffolding Foreman

Job Purpose:

To safely dismantle scaffolding structures on-site in accordance with industry standards, site-specific requirements, and health & safety regulations. This role includes full responsibility for striking (dismantling) scaffold structures efficiently and safely upon project completion or as required.

Key Responsibilities:

Assemble scaffolding structures using tubes, boards, fittings, and other materials.

Ensure structures are plumb, level, and correctly braced for safety and stability.

Striking / Dismantling of Scaffolding:

Dismantle scaffold structures safely and methodically according to plan or instruction.

Ensure all materials are lowered safely and without risk to persons or property.

Inspect all components during striking for damage and report or remove unserviceable items.

Organize and stack materials neatly for reuse, storage, or transport.

Modifications and Inspections:

Make adjustments or modifications to existing scaffolding as directed.

Perform daily pre-use inspections and report any issues.

Health & Safety Compliance:

Follow all site-specific health and safety regulations.

Use correct PPE and tools at all times.

Report near misses, unsafe conditions, or incidents immediately.

Communication and Teamwork:

Work collaboratively with other scaffolders and trades on site.

Communicate clearly with supervisors and other personnel regarding job progress and safety concerns.

Qualifications and Experience:

Valid CISRS Scaffolder card (Part 1, Part 2, or Advanced – as required by the project)

Proven experience in scaffold erection and striking

Working knowledge of TG20 and SG4 guidelines

Manual handling training (preferred)

Working at height certification (preferred)
