Training and Resourcing Planner (Training Coordination)
Salary: £30,024 - £33,699.00 plus on call allowances.
Hours: 36.25 hours per week
Contract: Permanent
Location: Hybrid / Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service Headquarters, Swinton

The Role:
This exciting opportunity is ideal for somebody who is committed and willing to go the extra mile to help support our organisation’s development, as well as their own professional and personal development.
The opportunity involves providing daily co-ordination of all operational resources across Greater Manchester, giving organisational and general support for colleagues and external customers around operational cover within GMFRS. This will include managing rosters and availability of operational staff in a highly effective and busy team and working alongside all levels of operational staff across the organisation.

Some of the main responsibilities include:
- Complete training course coordination which includes liaison with the Resourcing team, generating nominations through our internal system, delegate communication, booking of Corporate Trainers, booking facilities, catering and vehicles, contacting and liaising with suppliers and the recording of training.
- Liaison with senior officers to discuss and advise on upcoming and forecasted issues.
- Ensuring training / organisation rules are followed when planning training in order to ensure that Operational cover is maintained throughout.
- Ensuring the correct personnel are on the right courses and that their training expiry dates do not overrun, monitoring waiting lists and Organisational dispositions, creating nominations and issuing correct up-to date joining instructions, managing cancellation requests, updating attendance records and checking evaluation returns and responses.
- Provide a point of contact, proactively responding to training activity queries in a timely manner through various methods of communication (telephone, email, MS teams).
- Raising orders on our internal system, contacting suppliers to arrange deliveries, and ensuring the correct budgets codes are used.
- Creating and maintaining databases to record training information which helps with the coordination of training. e.g. Change/Cancellation database, Trainer Skills database, Corporate Trainer Roster, Training Schedule, retirement / future movements databases.
- To represent the Service Delivery directorate in a professional and respectful manner.
- To always remain confidential and comply with the Data Protection Act.
- Responsible for the management of the shared mailbox and dealing with telephone queries.
- Shift working of 7.25 hours on a shared rota between the hours of 0730-1700
