Summary

Technician – Media and Photography Hours; Part time, term time only (29 hours each week, 36 weeks worked) Duration; Permanent Salary; £24,476 (£15,789.82 pro-rata) a year + benefits Location; Rotherham College, RotherhamAbout the Role An exciting opportunity has arisen to work in the Visual and Performing Arts department of Rotherham College supporting the Media and Photography department. You would be joining a team of Technicians to provide support to the learners and staff within the area.
You will be expected to carry out duties related to the delivery of outstanding teaching and learning including within the area of media and photography, managing the equipment store, to ensure that classes have the relevant kit ready for use and to support students in loaning out items for independent study, assist with preparation of learning spaces such as the Darkroom and TV studio.
As well as this, the role will involve supporting other areas of Visual and Performing Arts, and the wider organisation in their projects, this could include offering advice on equipment to purchase, or technical support.
You will… As a Technician in Media and Photography you will be expected to have previous experience in the use and maintenance of video recording, photography and video/image editing software (or example Adobe Photoshop or Premier) and ideally have knowledge and experience in using a Photography Darkroom.
You will hold a Level 2 (or equivalent) qualification in English and Maths (or be willing to undertake) and have a Level 3 vocationally relevant qualification (within the field of media or photography).
Department Info You will report directly to the Senior Technician, and will take day to day direction from lecturing staff. You will also work as part of a wider technical support team in the department of Visual and Performing Arts.
