Summary
A Vacancy at Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust.
To work together with the Lead Radiographer to ensure the provision of a high-quality service by the cardiac MR department at The Royal Free Hospital meeting the needs of referrers and maintaining high standards of patient care.
To provide a high quality cardiac MR scanning service for the purpose of
diagnosis or research and to carry out highly specialised Cardiac MR scanning techniques in a dedicated MRI Unit. In particular this unit is responsible for scanning patients with cardiac amyloidosis, lysosomal storage disease and pulmonary hypertension, as well as general cardiology. As such, knowledge of the cardiac MR techniques and sequences specific to these patient populations is highly desirable.
To be part of a team continually committed to improving the service to patients and promoting the hospital nationally and internationally.
The post-holder will be required to deputise for the Lead Radiographer and be responsible for the daily work programme. This is particularly important because the Unit currently only has two radiographers and, when the lead is on leave, the post-holder will have the responsibility for running the Unit.
The post-holder will supervise, support and assist students and junior
radiographers in service delivery and personal development.
To undertake a specialist practitioner role for a defined area of the
modality/service.
To undertake specialised scanning procedures, across a variety of
complex clinical presentations and pathologies, within the cardiac MR
unit.
To undertake procedures as part of research projects.
To propose changes and work with other members of the multidisciplinary team to implement improvements and development of the service.
To operate a variety of Information technology systems to a high level,
including the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) and
ensure that all data inputs are accurately recorded in order to maintain
the integrity of data for both patients and the service.
To provide timely professional support to colleagues and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
To deputise for a service or modality lead, in their absence.
The Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust is one of the UK's biggest and most innovative trusts. Across three main hospitals, our dedicated army of staff care for over 1.6million patients, treat more than 200,000 in A&E, deliver over 8,000 babies and carry out more than 17million tests.
