Job details

  • On call shift payment of £14.30 per session

  • Rota basis, including weekends and bank holidays
  • Occasionally our customers' needs mean your start and finish times may change. Where we ask you to be flexible, we will always try to reciprocate
  • You will manage your own diary while ensuring service requirements are met
  • You will cover on call alongside your peer managers
  • You’ll need an Enhanced DBS check done and we pay for that.

Typical day as Activities Coordinator

  • Plan and run activities residents enjoy, from arts and crafts to music, quizzes or community trips

  • Create and update personal social care plans shaped around each resident’s interests, abilities and needs

  • Work with volunteers, colleagues and local groups to bring fresh ideas, energy and opportunities into the community

  • Organise special events like birthdays, seasonal celebrations and cultural activities that bring people together

  • Support wellbeing by encouraging residents to stay active, socially connected and confident while respecting their independence

  • Keep accurate records, gather feedback and make sure activities run smoothly and safely

You’ll be joining our lively Watergate Court team, led by Registered Manager Zeyad and Deputies Eileen and Monika. We’re a close-knit bunch who love good food, the odd chocolate fix and a bit of friendly banter, while always delivering outstanding care. You have

  • A natural talent for connecting with people, listening with kindness and respect so everyone feels valued and included

  • Experience planning and running group or one-to-one activities, ideally with older people, and tailoring them to different needs

  • Teamwork skills to collaborate with colleagues, volunteers and partners, sharing ideas to build a lively and welcoming community

  • Good understanding of safeguarding, equality and inclusion, creating safe, supportive spaces where dignity and independence come first

  • Confidence to use initiative, solve problems calmly and adapt plans while keeping activities meaningful and fun

  • Basic digital skills for email, databases and Microsoft Office, with a willingness to learn more on the job
