Summary

Job Advert

We are looking for an engaging and passionate legal professional with practice experience and a desire to develop the next
generation of CILEX legal specialists through our apprenticeship programmes (Level 3 – 7).

You will have specialist knowledge to deliver the legal skills, legal environment and professional development modules through
online group and 1:1 practical workshops. You will be supporting learners with the practical application of workplace skills and
taking responsibility for resource development where required. As a programme delivery team member, you will also take
responsibility for a caseload of learners, including onboarding, induction, skills assessments and the creation of personal
development plans and formative work assessments providing detailed feedback on strengths and areas for development.




NB: The title of Apprenticeship Coach is for marketing/recruitment purposes only. The official title for employment and internal
records is Learning and Development Adviser.




The role:

* Coaching and mentoring support, advising learners to enable successful completion of their programme
* Monitoring learner engagement and raising any concerns in line with policies
* Progress reviews with learners and their supervisors and setting development objectives
* Supporting learners in their preparation for assessments, including interview and portfolio preparation
* Identifying learners who require additional support and implementing suitable interventions
* Providing feedback on the learner experience and contributing to the CILEX Law School quality improvement plan
* Ensuring quality assurance processes are met to internal and external standards
* Liaising with the Business Development team to identify potential progression/recruitment opportunities

What we're looking for:

Essential:

* CILEX graduate/law degree or equivalent
* Practice experience
* Experience of training or developing others in the following skills
* Legal Drafting / effective legal writing
* Client Care and Professional Standards
* Communication (written and oral) and advocacy
* Finance / costing / billing in the legal environment
* Commercial awareness
* Demonstratable commitment to the welfare of learners



Desirable:

* A recognised teaching or coaching qualification
* Experience of training or developing others in the skills of sustainability in the legal environment and/or data and technology
in the legal environment
* Knowledge and understanding of competence qualifications and apprenticeships

* Skilled at providing feedback, using tact and diplomacy
* Committed to promoting the welfare of learners
* Able to empathise with learners of all ages and from a variety of backgrounds
* Confident, resilient and with the ability to work autonomously but also works well collaboratively in teams
* Willing to work up to two evenings a week and occasional weekends
* Willing to travel to attend occasional team meetings
