We are seeking a highly motivated Health Care Assistants with enthusiasm to develop knowledge and experience of patients with Intensive Care service to join our team.
As a Healthcare Assistant you will assist the Health Care practitioner to carry out routine health related activities and complete personal care and activities of daily living ensuring patient led focused care.
As a Healthcare Assistant you will provide clinical support as required to help and ensure the efficient and effective running of the unit. This will include include delegated tasks such as recording physiological observations, recording blood glucose etc.
You will support the team in maintaining stock and equipment levels.
Changes to the UK immigration policy introduced on the 9th April 2025, increased the minimum salary threshold for certificates of sponsorship applications for Health and Care Worker Visa from £23,200 (£11.90 per hour) to £25,000 (£12.82 per hour). As per Agenda for Change, if you are new to the NHS your starting salary would be £24,937 (minimum Band 3 salary point from 1st April 2025 in line with National Living Wage requirements). This salary point is below the new minimum threshold, and therefore not eligible for sponsorship. You will support the nursing staff and provide excellent patient care whilst maintaining the trust values at every opportunity. Some of your duties will include:
• Establish and maintain communication with patients, relatives and carers and the multidisciplinary team to be able to provide holistic patient care.
• Develop own skills and knowledge and provide information to others to help their development.
Monitor and maintain health, safety and security of self and others in own work area.
• Assist in maintaining and developing services.
• Ensure own actions help to maintain quality.
• Assist in assessing people’s health and wellbeing and related needs.
• Assist in planning, delivering and evaluating programmes to meet people’s health and wellbeing needs.
• Assist in the use of technology for measurement, monitoring and treatment.
• To assist the nurse in charge/ward manager to ensure the appropriate and effective delivery of facility services to properly maintain the patient environment
• Ability to work flexibly and unsociable hours to meet the demands of the service.
