Summary

We’re looking to recruit an experienced early years professional to work as a deputy supporting our Principal ( nursery manager) in a small, family-run, quality nursery, The Children's House Montessori School, situated in the grounds of Rushcombe First School, Corfe Mullen, Wimborne.

We cater for up to 40 two to five year old children at any one time (split into two classes of a maximum of 20 children) in a relaxed, friendly setting.

NVQ3 or equivalent essential, with a minimum of 2 years Early Years’ experience.

Experience in a leadership role is preferred but not essential. This position would suit a practitioner wanting to develop into a more senior role.

We value all our staff and strive to create a happy working environment.

Although we do use Montessori equipment and techniques this is only in support of the EYFS which remains our primary focus. Training will be given if needed.

We support and encourage our staff to train and progress in their field. We pay for short training courses and also for staff time attending short courses. All staff will receive Paediatric First Aid training and we would be looking to train the successful candidate to level 3 Safeguarding, if not already attained, to enable them to act as DSL for the setting when required.

The position will be for 4 full days and 1 half day per week, with the potential to increase to 5 Full days if attendance numbers require it. This is an all year round contract.

A DBS check and relevant references will be required.

Candidates should be highly motivated with the ability to plan and lead activities for a group of key children.
Excellent people and communication skills with the confidence to address parents appropriately and help the Principal to drive the setting forward in our aims for continuous improvement. Candidates should be confident of their knowledge of EYFS and bring fresh ideas and experiences to our nursery.
