Summary


Assistant Service Manager – Medicine Division

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious and talented Assistant Service Manager to join the Medicine Division at Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust.

In this pivotal role, you will take responsibility for operational and planning issues, working closely with the Service Unit Manager, General Manager, senior nursing and medical leaders to identify challenges, develop solutions, and drive improvements. You will also deputise for the Service Unit Manager when required, ensuring services run smoothly and in line with local and national policies.

This is a demanding but rewarding role with real influence and impact across the site. Strong communication skills and the ability to engage stakeholders with a visible, approachable style will be essential.

Support the management of the UGI cancer tumour site

Support RTT recovery initiatives and DM01 recovery

Provide business planning and operational support to the team

Undertake reporting and analysis of complex information to support delivery of constitutional standards.

Oversight of patient tracking lists (PTL’s) to ensure escalation is maintained at the weekly performance meetings, including distribution and presentation of data to the Deputy Director of Operations and Divisional Director.

Responsible for initiating and coordinating complaint responses

Provide support to ensure medical staffing rotas are running effectively

Responsible for financial monitoring

Development of Divisional teams, both clinical and non-clinical, who lead the patient journey improving processes and patient experience as required. The post holder will be a key member of the team whose overarching goal is to enable promote and support the effective operational management of the Service.
