Duties and Responsibilities
As an IT Technical Consultant, you will:
Act as a trusted advisor to clients, delivering high-quality technical consultancy services
Design, configure, and deploy IT infrastructure and cloud-based solutions
Provide hands-on support with systems integration, upgrades, and migrations
Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues across hardware, software, and networks
Deliver technology roadmaps, project documentation, and best practice recommendations
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure successful solution delivery
Support pre-sales activities with technical insights and solution scoping
Keep up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends
Essential Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Microsoft 365, and Azure environments
Experience with networking technologies (LAN, WAN, VPN, firewalls, switches, routers)
Proficiency in virtualisation platforms (VMware, Hyper-V)
Strong understanding of backup, disaster recovery, and cybersecurity solutions
Familiarity with Active Directory, Group Policy, and Exchange
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage projects and deliver technical solutions on time and within scope
Advantageous Skills
Experience with Linux systems administration
Knowledge of PowerShell scripting and automation
Exposure to VoIP and telephony systems
ITIL certification or knowledge of IT service management frameworks
Industry certifications such as Microsoft Certified, Cisco CCNA/CCNP, VMware VCP
Previous consultancy or MSP (Managed Service Provider) experience
