This is a fantastic opportunity for a full-time, permanent position where you'll be working outdoors, supporting conservation efforts, and being part of a dedicated team.
Key Responsibilities:- Operate tractors to carry out mowing, flailing, and other maintenance along roadsides and woodland trails.
- Perform basic maintenance and safety checks on tractors and equipment.
- Deliver materials and equipment to various work sites across forestry locations.
- Collect and record environmental data, including boundary inspections and tree density surveys.
- Collaborate with team members to tackle daily tasks and unexpected challenges.
- Represent Forestry England professionally when interacting with contractors, visitors, and the local community.
- Proven experience operating tractors in outdoor environments.
- Comfortable working in forestry, conservation, or countryside settings.
- Ability to use hand tools and carry out practical, hands-on tasks.
- Full UK driving licence.
- First aid qualification is desirable but not essential (training can be provided).
- Full-time, permanent role with a 37-hour work week, Monday to Friday (flexible working available).
