WE ARE PASSIONATE ABOUT PROTECTING NATURE AND WILDLIFE ACROSS OUR COUNTY, BUT WE NEED HELP TO MAKE SURE WE ARE READY TO RESPOND
WHEN NATURE CALLS!
Saving Worksop and Shireoaks through Natural Flood Management (NFM) is an exciting EA-funded project that demonstrates how nature
can help people by reducing flood risk to their homes. We are delivering a range of measures that will create new habitats and
benefit wetland wildlife along the River Ryton and its tributaries, whilst reducing flood risk and improving water quality. This
is one of the largest projects in the EA's national NFM programme and runs until March 2027.
We are looking for a passionate, committed and highly organised professional to cover a period of maternity leave. Reporting into
the Project Manager, you will work with various partners and landowners to reduce flooding by designing and building appropriate
NFM measures such as ponds, bunds, leaky barriers, wetland habitat, tree planting and restoring of floodplain connections into the
river Ryton catchment upstream of Shireoaks and Worksop.
Our culture
We are strong believers that it is our culture that makes it a special place to work and drives our huge successes. Our people are
passionate and dedicated to making Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust the best that it can be.
We are the county's leading conservation charity run by local people for the benefit of local wildlife, with nature reserves
across the county. We are a part of a UK network of 46 local Wildlife Trusts working to protect wildlife
We are supportive of hybrid working with a flexible and friendly team. There will be travel required to our other sites and
reserves in the county, so a full driving licence is essential.
