Summary
Role Overview
As a Construction Project Manager, you will take full ownership of project planning, delivery, and team coordination. You will be responsible for ensuring that construction projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards while maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage the full lifecycle of construction projects, from planning and procurement to delivery and handover.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, subcontractors, and clients.
• Develop detailed project plans, schedules, risk assessments, and budgets.
• Oversee site activities, ensuring safety, quality, and compliance with building regulations.
• Track project progress using KPIs and issue reports to senior leadership.
• Resolve issues that may arise during project execution, including resource conflicts and design variations.
• Ensure that materials, resources, and timelines align with contract deliverables.
• Contribute to continuous improvement in project delivery standards and systems.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
• Minimum 2 years' experience in construction project management.
• Strong leadership and organisational skills to manage multi-disciplinary teams and subcontractors.
• Excellent knowledge of UK construction methods, building regulations, and health & safety compliance.
• Proficient in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, or similar tools).
• Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
• SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) and CSCS card are highly desirable.
• Strong commercial awareness and contract management skills (JCT/NEC/FIDIC familiarity preferred).
Desirable Attributes
• Chartered status or working towards membership with CIOB, RICS, or ICE.
• Experience managing residential and/or commercial developments across the UK.
• Familiarity with sustainability standards and modern construction technologies (e.g., modular construction, BIM).
