Summary

We are looking for an organised and reliable Accounts Apprentice to join our finance team. You will undertake an AAT Level 2 Apprenticeship whilst working with the finance team to ensure the smooth running of financial operations. You will provide administrative support across various finance tasks. This position is ideal for someone with strong administrative skills and an interest in finance, looking to learn, develop their skills and build a career.
Key responsibilities will include:

Process and file purchase and sales invoices/credit notes.
Maintain and update supplier & customer records.
Assist with data entry and basic bookkeeping.
Reconcile supplier statements.
Process expenses and prepare payment remittances.
Process and file credit card receipts.
Raise & send remittance advice to all suppliers following payment runs.
Daily bank reconciliation via cash management system (Kyriba).
Maintain accurate supplier & staff records on Kyriba.
Assist with the month-end process.
Provide general administrative support to the finance team.
Ensure financial documents are accurately filed and archived.
Assist with opening new and closing old projects in Agresso (finance system).
Update timesheet reports.
Adhere to Company procedures in the management, delivery and administration of services.
Have an understanding and awareness of the company values and business plan and your contribution to both.
Observe and maintain Company Health and Safety Policy across all activities.
Undertake other reasonable duties as requested by your line manager.


Training
Foundation covers the basic principles of accountancy, and is your starting point if you’ve never studied accountancy before. You’ll learn the basic principles of accountancy, such as double-entry bookkeeping, costing and preparing financial statements, as well as how to use accountancy software.
This level is ideal if you’re new to accountancy and finance, have previously worked in an accounts department, or are looking to change your career into Accountancy.
To pass this level, you'll be examined on five units. All assessments are computer-based exams (CBE). The area you will cover include:

Bookkeeping transactions.
Bookkeeping controls.
Elements of costing.
Using accounting software.
Foundation Synoptic Assessment.Training will be provided either via classroom or remote sessions. An apprenticeship has to be relevant to the job you are undertaking and you must dedicate 20% of their time towards it.


Qualifications required

GCSE's grades 9/A* - 5/B including Maths and English.
If you have completed relevant A Levels, you would be eligible for Level 3 AAT.

Skills required


Good team working and interpersonal skills, ability to communicate effectively.
Good organisational and time management skills.
Able to work independently to a high standard with good attention to detail.
Ability to work to defined deadlines and prioritise workload whilst maintaining a high quality of work.
Experience of working in a team environment would be beneficial.
Experience of using Excel to manipulate data, do calculates and reports. (desirable)
